Wow. Two immediate reactions:
   
   1) I think I have now seen the definition of "classless." Thanks for the lesson, Max. I'll have a lot of respect for Coach Mendenhall if he has the guts to bench you for the bowl game. (It might prove to be a great strategic move for BYU, anyway... this might just give Bronco the excuse he needs!)
   
   2) "Our turn"??? This is why certain BYU fans, and evidently players, are so irritating. I thought this bizarre entitlement mentality was reserved only for a few ignorant BYU fans but I guess it permeates the so-called leaders of the team as well.
   
   Guess what, BYU didn't win because it was "your turn." BYU won because, in an extremely even and imperfect match, you played better on one key play. My first thoughts as a Utah fan were "well, at least congrats to those BYU seniors." Now let me restate that... Congrats to George, Unga, and others on the BYU team who have an ounce of character.
   
   And thanks Utes for never giving up... that was indeed "class" in the face of adversity (some self-inflicted). Disappointing end-result but us classless Ute fans are looking forward to watching you continue to develop over the next couple of years.

Gee Max....Why don't you tell us how you really feel. The truth is that real winners are gracious....and have class.

As a Ute Fan I give credit to the BYU football team for a hard fought win, and to Max Hall, what a classless way to go out as the winning Quarterback.

I find it interesting that no one denied that those things do happen in RES. Hall was wrong but know what he has been so abused on the net and this site perhaps he held it in as long as he could. WeeWilly is a good example of the crap tossed at Hall. I wonder if someone thru beer on Wee's family or MattHalen's family what they would do. Probably the same thing. MattHalen hates BYU but he hides on the net. WeeWilly hates BYU but he hides on the net.
   Maybe Frank Doleac said it best. The fans are where the problem lies.
   
   My question to the U is simple, what was beer doing in RES. I guess it ok for the Utah administration to look the other way and let the fan throw beer, but when Max Hall has enough, he went off.
   
   MattHalen, how long would have you taken to go off. If you already hate BYU and someone tossed beer on your family, most likely you would be in jail now.

How is pointing out real abuses by classless people something to condemn? Ute fans are guilty of this sort of behavior, and it's nice to finally see someone who matters tell it like it is. Unfortunately, it probably means that Hall will receive some censure from the conference.

Memo to Max Hall: I have had to put up with all kinds of foul mouth, classless Cougar fans many times in this rivalry game. No I don't like what the extreme fans do on both sides of this rivalry, but as a member of the LDS faith myself, I would never say I hate anyone and talk trash the way you did. You could have come across as a real classy winner after this hard fought game, but now you will only be remembered as a sore loser and a sore winner.

of course max is right...it's part of the subtle reality of the lower expectations everyone in this state has for ute fans.
   
   most BYU fans have some connection to the school...go to a game at RES and it's like they gave everyone in west valley city a red hat and a ticket. ute fans don't so much cheer "for" utah as they want to be obnoxious against BYU. when someone like max calls a spade a spade...they act like someone skewered their nonexistent sensibilities...
   
   every other year when we go up to RES, without fail, at some point in the game a ute fan will turn to us and apologize for the f-bombs and rudeness of their fellow red clad clowns...

Max Hall you are a classless fool!! You looked like a loser last year throwing so many picks and you got outplayed today BY A FRESHMAN!!!!! You are why we hate the team down south so bad. Good luck finding a job selling cars or something cuz you arent even good enough to work the sidelines at your school. I'm sure the coaching staff is glad you are gone finally.
   I love the confidence, or lack thereof, your coach showed in you when he made you run out the clock at the end of regulation. He didn't even trust you to try and win it...hahaha! CLASSLESS PUNK!!!
